Who runs MyAkme

MyAkme is a service of NVS Consulting LLC (Richmond, Madison County, KY 40475, USA). NVS Consulting LLC is the data controller for personal information collected through MyAkme. References below to “we,” “us,” or “our” mean NVS Consulting LLC.

What we store

Your profile (name, credentials, email, ORCID, NPI, contact details, optional headshot), every CV you author, every section item in your master library, parsed CV PDFs you upload, and your Stripe customer ID once you subscribe. We never store your password — that's managed by AWS Cognito. To verify that a new account really belongs to the provider it names, we also record the internet address, approximate location (city, region, country) and internet provider in use when the account is created and when the ID is uploaded; the address itself is encrypted in the database.

Who we share with

  • Anthropic — when you upload a CV for AI parsing, the PDF and our extraction prompt are sent to Anthropic's API. Anthropic does not train on this data per their commercial terms.
  • Amazon Web Services — your data lives in AWS DynamoDB, S3, and Cognito (US East 1). AWS is a subprocessor only; they don't access your data for their own use.
  • Stripe — payment data goes directly to Stripe. We never see your card number; we only receive a customer ID and subscription status.
  • Google (Analytics) — when you accept analytics cookies at the banner, anonymized page-view and engagement events are sent to Google Analytics 4 so we can understand how MyAkme is used. We do not enable Google Ads features (ad personalization, ad storage). Decline at the banner to opt out entirely.
  • NCBI / PubMed — when you import publications by PMID, your query goes to NCBI's E-utilities. NCBI logs queries against their public service.
  • ipwho.is — during account verification, the internet address a new account connects from is sent to this geolocation service to resolve its approximate location. Nothing else about you is sent.
  • CMS NPI Registry (NPPES) — the NPI you enter at signup is looked up in the public federal registry so we can confirm the account against the provider’s registered name and practice location.
  • Your institution's admins — if you join an org via invite, the org's admins can see your name, email, and seat status. They cannot see the contents of your CVs or library.

How we protect it

  • Every account uses two-factor authentication with an authenticator app.
  • All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest (DynamoDB, S3, and backups) under a customer-managed AWS KMS key controlled by NVS Consulting LLC, with automatic rotation.
  • The most sensitive fields — license, DEA, certification, and insurance policy numbers; NPI; addresses and phone numbers; gap and attestation explanations; credentialing messages; health-record results and notes; case-log notes; identity-document numbers (driver’s license, passport, Social Security card, and similar IDs) — are additionally encrypted inside the database with per-record data keys, so they cannot be read from a database export without the KMS key.
  • Every file you upload (the ID you verify your account with, credential documents, CVs, and photos) is encrypted in your browser before it leaves your device, with its own key. Our file storage only ever holds the encrypted copy. Opening a file requires a separate KMS key that only our application servers can use, so a copy of the storage alone cannot be read. Files are decrypted in the browser of the person allowed to see them, and every employer access to a document is logged.

What we don't do

We don't sell your data. We don't train models on it. We don't use it to advertise anything to you. We don't share with anyone other than the service providers above.

Deletion

Delete your account at any time from /settings. Account deletion wipes every row in your DynamoDB partition (profile, CVs, items, parse jobs, audit log) and tombstones your Cognito user. Stripe customer records persist for accounting reasons but are no longer linked to anything in our system.
